Shopify CRO Agency
A structured conversion optimisation programme for Shopify stores: research, testing, and iteration that compounds.
For established brands with real traffic. CRO is our flagship service, not a side offering.
cro built for how shopify actually works
Generic CRO advice falls apart on Shopify. The platform shapes what you can test and how: theme architecture constrains page changes, checkout is locked down unless you are on Plus, and app-heavy stores carry performance baggage that skews every experiment. Shopify CRO means working with those constraints, not pretending they don't exist.
We run CRO as a structured testing programme, not a side service bolted onto design work. Research first, then written hypotheses, then controlled experiments, then iteration. It is the core of what Uncover does, and it is delivered by the same team that builds and maintains Shopify stores every day.
what a shopify cro agency does
4 areas of focus
- 01
Product Page Optimisation
The PDP is where most Shopify stores win or lose the sale. We test imagery, buy-box layout, social proof placement, and the information hierarchy around price and delivery.
- 02
Checkout Optimisation
On Shopify Plus we work directly in checkout: field reduction, express payment placement, trust signals, and upsell logic that doesn't harm completion rate.
- 03
Collection & Navigation Testing
How visitors filter, sort, and move from category to product. Small changes here shift the volume of people who ever reach a product page.
- 04
A/B Testing Infrastructure
Proper experiment setup on Shopify: server-side or client-side testing that respects theme constraints, tracks revenue per visitor, and reaches significance before anyone declares a winner.
why cro matters more than traffic for most shopify brands
The average Shopify store converts between 1.4% and 1.8% of visitors. Move a store from 1.5% to 2.5% and revenue rises 66% on exactly the same traffic, for zero extra ad spend. No paid channel offers a return like that, and unlike ad spend, the improvement keeps paying every month after you stop.
If your store gets traffic but sales don't follow, we wrote about the usual causes in Shopify traffic but no sales, and about the state of CRO for UK Shopify stores.

how we approach shopify cro
- 01
Audit
We start with a full conversion audit: analytics review, funnel breakdown, and a walk through the store on the devices your customers actually use. The output is a ranked list of problems, not a generic checklist.
- 02
Research
Session recordings, heatmaps, and customer data tell us why people leave. We pair the quantitative funnel data with what visitors actually do on the page.
- 03
Hypotheses
Every test starts as a written hypothesis: what we believe is broken, what we will change, and what number should move if we are right. No redesigning on instinct.
- 04
A/B Testing
We build and run controlled experiments, sized to your traffic so results are statistically meaningful. Winners ship to 100% of visitors; losers teach us something and cost you nothing permanent.
- 05
Iteration
Results feed the next round of hypotheses. This is a programme, not a project: the compounding effect of consecutive wins is where the real revenue change comes from.
If you want the detail on how testing works on this platform, our practical guide to A/B testing on Shopify covers tooling, sample sizes, and the mistakes that quietly invalidate results.
the conversion growth retainer
One-off CRO projects have a ceiling. An audit finds problems, a sprint fixes the obvious ones, and then the programme stops exactly when the compounding was about to start. Testing is iterative by nature: each result changes what you test next, and the gains stack month over month.
That is why we deliver CRO through the Conversion Growth Retainer: a fixed monthly fee covering research, testing, and the development time to ship winners properly. One team, accountable for one number, month after month.
what to expect, honestly
By month 3
Audit complete, testing infrastructure in place, first experiments live. You will know exactly where your store leaks and what we are doing about it.
By month 6
A run of completed tests with documented wins and losses. Wins are compounding: each one lifts the baseline the next test builds on.
By month 12
A materially different conversion rate and a store shaped by a year of evidence about your customers. We don't promise a specific percentage lift, because nobody honestly can.
One more honest note: CRO cannot fix a product nobody wants, pricing the market rejects, or fulfilment that generates refunds. If we think your conversion problem is actually one of those, we will say so before you spend money on testing. Unsure which camp you are in? Get in touch and ask.
who this is right for
Established Shopify and Shopify Plus brands with meaningful traffic. A/B testing needs volume: below roughly 10,000 sessions a month, tests take too long to reach significance and the programme stalls. If that is you, the retainer will pay for itself out of found revenue.
It is not right for pre-launch stores or brands still searching for product-market fit. There is no data to test against yet, and you would be paying for a process your store cannot feed. Get traffic and first revenue, then come back: we will still be here.
